Judith Aller conducting in Finland

SUNDAY'S LIVE

LOS ANGELES, CA -- May 14, 2008 – Violinist Judith Aller will be performing at a “Sunday’s Live” concert at the Leo S. Bing Theater of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art on Sunday, June 1 at 6:00 P.M.

Best known for her recording of the Corelli “La Folia Variations,” Ms. Aller is regarded as an unique artist who brings a rare interpretive vision to the rapidly vanishing romantic-expressionist tradition. She grew up in the midst of Hollywood’s classical music golden era and was taught by Jascha Heifetz and her father, piano virtuoso and Capitol recording artist, Victor Aller. For many years, Aller lived in Finland, Sweden and France, touring as soloist with and recording for the Finnish Radio Symphony and teaching at the Sibelius Academy of Music.

Her latest recording is “ARCHANGEL!,” a selection of the Opus 5 violin sonatas by the great Italian Baroque master Arcangelo Corelli. These sonatas, which she describes as “music that exists outside of time,” were recorded in a single day and have been critically acclaimed as among the finest recorded renditions of these virtuoso pieces.

Ms Aller will be performing Nin-Kochanski “SAETA,” Richard Strauss’ Sonata in E Flat for violin & piano, Mozart’s Sonata No. 4 in E. Minor and De-Falla-Kreisler “La Vida Breve.” She will be accompanied on piano by Valeria Margovskaya.

The concert will be broadcast June 4 on KCSN FM 88.5.
